snutter,
While I personally don't mind the use of "bad language", others on the site surely do. Many of our players are underage and so I felt forced to ***** out much of your post.

SNUTTER!
I feel that your miss use of this forum on this particular post is way out of line. There are in fact many underage players on this site who receive these posts by email where they are not edited. I do realize that perhaps you could blame some parents for letting their children receive unfiltered posts from a game site. I have chosen to allow my son to receive these posts through his email because I want him to have the chance to be involved in every aspect of this game and this site so that he will continue to gain interest in what I feel is one of the best games ever. Up until this point there has not been a problem. I also feel that what you have displayed in this post is one of the worst displays of sportsmanship I have seen committed yet! Perhaps if you would have used the little extra time it had taken you to peace together miss spelled profanity, towards a more thought out message to display then I would not be questioning your sportsmanship?
I would be very grateful if you would refrain from this kind of abuse in the future, along with many other parents out there I am sure.
Thanks in advance for your understanding! Wyatt/Vitals

All,
I am sorry for my blatant use of profanity. I am a profane person in life, and don't give it a second thought. However, as Vitals pointed out, kids can recieve these posts via email or read them at this site. When thinking about that, I concede that I was out of line. I was so mad at Dufus last night that I just couldn't stop myself (beer was a good influence as well). I DO NOT apologize for whatI said about that jerk! But I do apologize to the rest of you for my language. I will keep my temper, no - my language, in check from now on when posting.

Vitals, I don't take time to "think" out what I am going to say. I say what I want because I am not afraid to express myself. I enjoy being a unique individual, and I embrace my differences from "regular" society. I understand why you had a problem with it, and conceded on that point. Thank you for the opinion that you are entitled to, but as far as I'm concerned you can keep it to yourself.

PS I am an excellent sport when it comes to the game of pente. I have gone as far as to point out to my opponent that they will lose with a bad move, rather than not saying anything at all.

sportsmanship and foul language

I sense that things are starting to get out of hand here. As a result of the removal of Dufus from the tournament, several disputes have arisen, and some unpleasantries have taken place on the forum.
I am going to address a few issues here.
1) Foul and/or abusive language.
I am guilty of using foul and/or abusive language at times. I do not always think out what I am saying before I say it. I always stand behind my ideas, but maybe not the manner in which I express them. I have been chastised in the past for my language, and probably rightly so. Personally, I think parents spend too much time worrying about what type of "language" their kids are exposed to, especially in a society where our music and movies have so much foul language. BUt, that is their choice, not mine, since I do not have kids and never will. So I try to tone down my language when posting publicly. This leads to my second issue--
2) Sportsmanship.
OI have to agree with snutter here-- his profanity laced post may have been inappropriate and ill-thought out, but it is unfair and inacccurate to question his sportsmanship. In the actual play of pente, Snutter always grants undoes, would never force resignation, and is a very gracious loser (I know htis from my beating him many times at IYT and DSG), and he is laso a gracious winner (which I also know from losing to him many times).
Let us not confuse an angry hothead with a player of questionable ethics, because the diustinction is important.
I don't want to see people developing dislikes for each other here at this site.
I guess that is all I have to sya. I though I had more, but I can;t think of anything else at the moment.
If I do not accept a game invite right away, it means I will once I have fewer games in progress.

Like you, I will never have children, and I do not think like a parent. As I said, I was pretty upset with Dufus last night and it all came spilling out. I'm just fed up with this player, and voiced my feelings. However, I mis-used the "community" forum, and have apologized. I will be more conscientious with my posts in the future.
Thank you for the kind words Dmitri.

Just a thought I was having: I am amazed that we can watch the Discovery channel and see a lion BRUTALLY ripping a zebra to shreds for food, but we can't see a naked human being or hear cussing on television. (I would like to take this moment to thank the church for giving all of us the "gift" of shame!)
