It seems that so many people choose to play the bots even with others are here to play. About half of the people will play a game vs a human when a human is there but now when I log on I see so many people playing vs the bots. I will not play a bot when a human is available but I seem to be in minority. When I logged on tonight there were 4 games going on…all 4 were bot vs human. I don’t know what should be done about this, probably nothing. In fact there was a new person here, that said they have been playing for hours but still were totally unrated, meaning they have never played a human yet. If people don’t get contact with others they may not come back. I just hope that we as a community will try to involve people. Too many times I have seen new people come in and players just ignore them. We need to foster the next generation of players if we want this community to grow and improve.
Good Point Emerald. I admit I was part of the problem, I was addicted to playing the bots. I think there was a certain novelty to it, plus I wanted to see how I could fare against the bots. I would guess that others view it the same way as I do. However, the novelty has worn off and I have been playing mostly humans now; I suspect others will do the same once the novelty wears off for them.

i seem to be having a lot of trouble finding player to play against lately!!! everyone wants to play computers!! no ego involved, i guess. also no conversation, no loss or gain of knowledge or rating points. it seems that when a reasonably good player is on site, he or she would be swamp with player wanting to take them on but its not the case. perhaps weaker players dont realise the risk (pointwise) stronger players face when playing someone of a lower rating. computers don't take your 2 pts (or give u 30) they dont even play real live pente!!! are egos so delicate that we don't want to play even the best for fear of losing or, worse, maybe just looking bad!!
