Wow! What a site this is!

I have been playing Pente the old fashioned way for years with anybody I could sucker into learning the game. I have my original red tube (beat to smithereens and reinforced with packing tape) in prominent view at home and in the car with me on road trips. Of all my friends I have two Pente fans. Games were few and far between.
I was looking for a tube Pente, which I found and sent to a pal, when I found Pente.org. I had no idea. Earl and I thought we were good players, which is now laughable. Totally clueless, legends in our own minds, for decades, LOL.
This site is too cool for words... A special thanks to dweebo for creating and managing all this.

Welcome to the site, Ken. It's an awesome resource, there's no doubt about it. Be sure to check out the game database if you haven't already. That all by itself puts Pente.org head and shoulders above anything else out there online or offline.

Thanks for the tip watsu. The more I use this site, the more fun things I find. One day I was playing around and accidently initiated a turn based game without realizing it. Wont do that again. Not only the site, the members I have met are just as amazing.

see what I mean about the awesome people 'round here. ukie 60 and I barely played and I have to mention lepews, who gave me terrific pointers, even after I stiffed him on my phantom turn-based invitation. My rating point went down in monolithic porportions on that one. whoops. Several members have offered coaching by suggesting undo's before they eventually crush me. Totally fun.

yea I'll agree this site just is simply better, because it is 'live'. None of the others really allow you to socialize while playing, and the regulars here really are a great bunch. As ever, hats off to Peter for making it all happen!
And Jack, you have beat me, a few times French skunks love a good back rub every now and then lol

I can ditto every sentiment kghjr. Didn't really get to play much after learning the game way back in 1977. That is, with one notably bad exception, in front of several people, of course. But I did get to play in two tournaments. At the one in Oklahoma City in 1998 or so, it was obvious there was a whole group of players at least one level above me; and after playing the guy who won it all (Bodo Konze, forgive the spelling), I'd say he was a level above them. For most of it’s life, my '79 hardwood board pretty much hung on the wall as artwork (wonder what those things are worth now?). Anyway, after playing here for a month or so, I still feel like I robbed someone if I win a game. Amazing brain-power and vision with the players here. And everyone has been cool about me talking so much …
