A week or so ago, Watsu told me about the Pente Database. That’s pronounced “date-a-base”; not “dotta-base” or “dada-base”, (dada is home with momma).
For those of you who don’t know; if you go to the main website, about halfway down on the left side, under “Features” there is a “Game Database.” You can look up every game played here (as long as it wasn’t canceled). You can review your games or look at games other people played; play by play, backwards/forwards. You can play “what if” scenarios with critical moves, and learn the right time to pull the right moves. You can look up statistics on yourself and see your weaknesses. Or research an opponent and exploit their weaknesses. Learn the best opening moves. Etc.
The good news is that right after Watsu showed me all that, my rating score went up a couple of hundred points!!! So, I told all the people I play against because it was so cool. Then the bad news, my score fell back down to where it started.
