One question about swap2 is whether it would be better to have it on a 15x15 board or a 19x19 board. Vint.ee has swap2 Pente, swap2 gomoku and of course renju all on 15x15 boards, so if swap2 games were downloaded and imported to the db from there then 15x15 would make sense to match. Also, if renju is added here, it would be on a 15x15 board anyway. 19x19 is the default standard here, but we already have gomoku and swap (D) Pente here, so having a bit more distinction between the swap2 variants and what is already here isn't necessarily a bad thing. It probably doesn't make a big difference either way, unless the vint.ee games are added into the db. ETA: playok.com also has swap2 gomoku on a 15x15 board, so perhaps that's the standard? One more reason in favor of implementing the sw2 games as 15x15. I watched the world #1 play swap2 unrated on a 1/0 timer. Uh MAZE ing!

Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat

As I mentioned earlier, gamo467 was likely to continue moving up. Now, with an 18 set winning streak, he seems pretty firmly established in the active top 10 list, so things are improving since I posted initially.

Good question, jhs. Probably more high quality TB Pente here than anywhere else I'm aware of. At vint.ee, it (swap Pente) doesn't seem popular, but watch out for nupudkorda flyordie has some good players Brainking might get active again, but kind of unlikely. So, even if we come up with a way to interest high level gomoku and renju players in playing the game, we still have to get them here or find out where they'd prefer to play it.

this is my site. i would like to see players get intrested in live games again now that the rating system is normal again, that was always my preferred way to play pente, only problem with it was it promotes a bar like atmosphere and i don?t need to be tempted to drink while playing

This has always been my primary site for playing too, and I prefer live games to turn based. I just don't think that for international level live tournament play that the current tournament rules balance the game enough to attract and keep high level players from other games like swap gomoku and renju.
