Yes, I agree. Going a step further, generally it is easier to beat a weaker opponent than a stronger one, wouldn't you agree?
Assuming the rating system is working as intended, if your rating is higher, you will be paired against weaker opponents in the early rounds. You still have to beat them, but most people would prefer to face the #20 seed in the first round of a tournament instead of the #1 seed.
The higher your rating, the less likely you are to meet the top seed early on.
It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.

It is true you need to beat everyone to win the tourney, but the issue would come for the other positions, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Imagine there's prize money for top 8 in a 64 team single elim tourney, but you as the #2 team had to face #1 in round one, and you lose and go home with no money. That'd be quite painful for the #2 team
Of course, we dont have prize money for pente.. other than karlw
