Game: haijinx vs. watsu 03/13/2019

This was a study game haijinx and I played based on an old novelty P1 move found by up2ng in an analysis game against Rollie Tesh. Dmitri King and I studied this variant for an hour or two one day as it applied to Boat Pente, but somehow I don't have notes on his creative P2 play which forced me to think outside the box a bit to find a Pente win - which obviously to us wasn't going to work for boat Pente. So, haijinx and I played this one out as mostly a real time game, but I initially played a (likely) losing move of 17. ... N8 (18. L9) before requesting an undo and time to study the board. Eventually, I thought L9 was winning, only to look at the board after I made the move and think he could get 5 pairs on me with an O10 capture! Boat Pente real time is mighty tough to analyse, at least for me, anyway.

Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat
