learning to play Pente

My girlfriend loves to play Pente and she is good at it. I am just learning it and I am getting my butt kicked consistently. Is there any guide to game strategy available to help me hold my own?
Thanks,
Andy

You can try Tom Braunlinch books. You can still find some of them at Ebay, Amazon, Powells Books, and at other stores that sell used books.
Also, playing games is the best way to improve your game. You can try www.itsyourturn.com and www.pente.org. Very good places to find opponents and even get a free lesson.
