Connect 6 Variation/Pente Variation

I have been hard at work thinking about a variation of C6 and this is what I have come up with:

1. You can capture opponent's stones when there are 3 in a row in any direction.
2. You cannot win through capturing alone.

Anyone like this?

Also, another pente variation:

It's just like Boat-Pente, only you have to get 2 5's in order to win. This should give a more fair advantage to lower ranked players playing higher ranked players.

both sound fun,...

the c6 version seems to be a way to keep the board from filling up as it tends to do in regular c6.

and the boat version seems that it might really fill the board up with stones.

both seem to add complexity to the games.

I have some versions ive been working on my self, but im not ready to say what they are.

as far as you saying it would balance the playing field for low rankers vs high rankers,...i'm not sure this will be the case. but you never know for sure until you try it i suppose....

One of the problems with the C6 version would be the fact that you play 2 stones per turn.

I have added the following:

Players can only capture on their second move.

Here's another variation idea:

There are a set number of stones that cannot be used to play with. They are stationary and block all plays that connect to it. Gomoku and C6 add this rule. Anyone like?

I believe that I have run out of ideas on variations to substatiate onto pente.org....
