In the height of tournament action, with the Fall and Winter Pente tournaments going on, there were on average over 30 active players with a rating of 1700 or above. With no more pente tournaments in progress, that number has sunk to 20, and I've noticed that there's barely ever a top player in the room with me. What does this mean? If we want pente.org to continue to be the best place for professional-level pente, we need to keep the tournaments going! Dweebo, wherever you are, take heed!

"With the c6 tournament in the later rounds and the BK tournament dragging on interminably, it's the perfect time to start signups for the Summer pente tournament. I made the proposition that the winner of the below 1700 tournament run the tournament (with my assistance if need be), and spifster has generously accepted the job. Go spif! Hopefully we can get signups started in the next few days, with a start date around June 1st.".....I guess I deduced from your language in this post from the tourney section that the ball was already set in motion Karl....my mistake.

I don't think he's gotten the message yet. I'm sure when he does he'll give the green light, but I have no idea when that will be. I haven't seen him for a long while.

Oddly enough, or maybe not so oddly, I noticed that when top players had multiple active games going on in aaru's and brf's tour on bk, there would be many on here, presumably using the db. Maybe having more top players playing live during those times would help get them in? And maybe stay playing live? haha...
