Congrats to Mr. 10,000!

If you had told me back in '99 when I started a tiny little pente playing community that a pente player on my site would rack up over a thousand games I would have laughed at you, quietly walked away and called someone at the nearest mental hospital with your name and address.

However it happened, I think the honors for that went to joeking many years ago (he hasn't been seen in quite awhile but I swear I wasn't the one who made the call). Eventually I got over my shock and went into denial, I convinced myself that he was just an abnormal human being, some sort of pente playing anomaly that would never again happen. Of course later I myself reached 1,000 games but I figured that was some sort of database glitch or something, must have been some test data that got mixed up on the live system.

At this point I stopped looking at all those big numbers after players names, in order to stop the mad voices in my head you understand.

But after many years of pente therapy I got over it, I came to accept that some players have a bizarre ability to spend hour after hour staring at little white and black circles on a grid of lines.

But now the voices are back, and they are loud you see! For a player has done something so extraordinary that I can no longer deny it, I must acknowledge this player's greatness and bow down to him and his infinite pente powers. That player's name is mike321 and he has played over ten thousand games!!

In all seriousness though, wow, it's just amazing to me. I am going to give Mike honorary donor privileges for this accomplishment.

Congrats Mike!
