s-pente on pbem (corrected)
Posted: Jul 9, 2001, 4:26 PM

Hi,

(I posted incorrect rules, the swap is
after 4 and 5):
I finally fixed up the installation
of s-pente on Richard's server. Challenge me to a
game of s-pente or
another variant (d-pente,
g-pente, pente+-)

Here are the s-pente opening
rules:

S-Pente is the same as 2- player Pente except for the
following
opening rules suggested by Oleg Stepanov:

Players are initially referred to as tentative
Ohs and tentative Eks.

Move#1
Ohs
first move of the game is automatically made to the
center K10.
Move#2.
tentative Eks has to make
the second move into the central zone 3x3
(J-L,
9-11)
Move#3.
tentative Ohs has to make the third
move into the central zone 5x5
(H-M, 8-12)

Move#4 Tentative Eks makes an unrestricted move.

Move#5a. Tentative Ohs may swap sides after the 4th
move.

If no swap was made after the 4th move, no further
opening rules are applied.

If the swap was
made:
Move#5b. Tentative Eks (now Ohs) makes an
unrestricted move.
Move#6a. Now, Tentative Ohs (now Eks)
may swap sides.
Move#6b. Eks makes an
unrestricted move and no more opening rules are
applied.
