playing pool...aka sequence

upon the break, a good pool player never takes the duck unless it improves his position for followup.
the duck being the easy shot.
instead, he looks at the table and sees a series or sequence of shots.
a pattern.
a lil backspin here and a lil english there and voila you can run the table.
but run that same pattern out of order (mebbe seduced by the duck) and you risk losing control of the table and possibly the game.
much has been said about structures and board control.
and a lot has been said lately about adzi (i confess i am still struggling to fully comprehend it) but it seems to me that sequence would be critical to any advanced gameplay.
just my thoughts.

Two main issues here to my mind: 1. No actual Pente examples of what you mean - board or game.
2. Pool vs. Pente (even renju or gomoku vs. Pente comparisons don't always work)

Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat

it is a little hard to put backspin or english on a pente stone, but overall, I think you got it
