My "Step Father". Inventor of boat pente, was Jay E Hoff. I have fond memories, as a young man, on his 52 foot sail boat, smoking pot and playing complex boat pente. For many years, until one day my skill matched his, and we tied every set. Good memories. He died when I was 30, just shortly before i won the 2010 tourney, that was unfortunate he didn't make it to see that. In any event, I'm pretty much retired from pente, but occasionally visit. It's ok for others to carry the torch. In fact i encourage it. As for me, i have nothing to prove to myself in pente. I dived deep down the rabbit hole, and saw enough wonders to feel satisfied. Was a long long road to find that satisfaction. Good to see you invictus.
