Gomoku ninuki projects on Github
Posted: May 22, 2019, 7:14 PM

Searching the web for ninuki today, I found a couple of github projects:

https://github.com/jeremycare/Gomoku-ninuki and

https://github.com/8102/Gomoku

I'm not familiar enough with programming and/or github to tell whether either or both of these projects have a testable ninuki program to show for their efforts or whether they were just started projects which never arrived at something workable. Anyone with more knowledge of how github works and/or programming want to take a look?

I'm almost sure that these are usual Pente/Gomoku programs.
Ninuki rules are too complex for programmers

At least the 8102 project appeared to have a referee button in the assets to flag double threes, so I think at least that one is/was making the attempt on ninuki rather than just Pente or gomoku.

One more github project:

https://glukkazan.github.io/renju/ninuki-renju.htm

But I still stand by my point that such programmers are not able to implement japanese rules correctly.

Well, that may well be true, but it looked like the referee program was at least an attempt at monitoring forbidden double threes, which is the beginnings of making a Pente program more similar to ninuki renju. I didn't try making a double three against the one you linked to, so I can't say as to whether or not they got that one right. ETA: it doesn't play well nor does it apparently get the open threes read accurately from what I saw. I can at least attest to that much It rarely seems to make captures and plays the game more like a gomoku program in terms of the moves it chooses.

And, since I can beat it, clearly the renju program is quite lacking as well
