Has anyone else noticed that the news forum hasn't been updated in a year? lmao um where oh where is our site host? I sure wish people would play here! Sad watching the site die! Nobody plays anymore! It truly sucks that such a great site goes to waste! Maybe 2-3 on at a time! COME ON PEOPLE!

Oh wait i should rephrase, they only come for the tournies or to put their name back on the high ratings list. so what a game a month? lmao sad really that those points mean so much they won't even play here!

I had noticed that, what the hell is wrong with dweebo?

Oh wait, thats me....

Obviously I haven't been around much lately and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. I need to move to a cheaper server for 2005 (and have another donation drive) and that will take time. So don't expect anything but maintenence out of me for awhile, unfortunately.

LOL@dweebo! Hey! Glad to know you are doing okay! Some had begun to wonder and inquire about you! That is cool, well not really, I wish you could enjoy your awesome site more than your schedule allows, but we all get busy with work and family! Any way, can I get access to reset the web server when it gets locked up? LMAO no, really...seriously! Willing to help out anyway possible!

I hope you have a happy holiday season and get a chance to whip some butt over the virtual board here sooner than you think!

Just a quick update. As of about 5 minutes ago, pente.org is now hosted on a different server. So far so good, things are going a little too well so far...how is this possible? I'm sure something will break soon

I think that they are probably a lot of people who would like to play this game online who just don't know about it. Maybe we could get the people who make the glass and cardboard version of the game to make a mention of this site. Also because this is the only true pente site (cause only real time pente is true pente) maybe we should tell everyone at the other sites to come here and play. That would get the numbers up also.

Also, I am a webmaster of a few sites and I make links to pente.org whenever I can. That gives it better ranks in search engines and helps people find it.

Another idea is that there are MANY inactive players, maybe sending them all a letter once a month with their current ranking and such will make them wanna compete.

Also I think that some novice people quit cause their scores suck, maybe it would be good to have a one time amnesty program for people with scores under 1200 or so where one time they can reset their scores as if they never played.....that would probably get people excited again.

The company Winning Moves that makes the cardboard game now, does have a link to this site, and also to the WPPF. On the back of the box it even has the URL of the WPPF, which I think is so cool, way to go Greg! Who makes a glass version? As far as barging into other Pente sites and telling people to play here, that is not something I am going to do (I wouldn't like it if other site owners did it at DSG).

Thanks for the links, it does help with search pages, DSG is #2 on most of the major ones (google, msn, yahoo), right behind pente.net (I wonder how he does it )

My latest plan to get the site more active is by hosting regular tournaments, that plan is in action now, glad to see you join the next tournament emerald!

I don't think I want to have a ratings amnesty program. If your rating is low its because you have lost alot of games, I believe the ratings system does a pretty good job of classifying a players skill level. If the player improves their play, then their rating will move up pretty quickly. Plus, if a player really wanted to start over, I can't stop them from creating a new user account, though that practice is generally frowned upon.

Thanks for the ideas, I appreciate all feedback!
