so here is a strange take on using the db during tournaments... If i am playing golf against a pro or even a scratch golfer, i'm not gonna win, so it dont hurt my feelings to kick the ball over a few feet, not gonna make a difference to outcome. I'm shoot 110 or more with my helpers. But I had fun and my playing opponent didn't lose anything. I use the db a lot. still only win about 65 percent of my games, most of my games will get past whats in the db anyway, so then end play for me is where its at. i suppose you could ban me from db and tourneys, but i wasn't going to win anyway. I'm happy to get past the first round, second round i'm giddy.
i'm 71 years old, got a mind like a fine sieve. drunk most of the time and need the db to respond to k10, l9, n10 LOL
Karlw, zoeyk, owen, mumix (when he tries) gonna beat me anyway, probably tempest and noahred. and after the first 2-3 seeds in this tournament, we are all cannon fodder anyway.
Zoeyk has his own db, I bet karlw has a little notebook, Owen ( well he may just be smart).
Top rated chess players, their brains are different. Their brains are a db. how is that fair if you ban my db usage. Besides the db is gonna lead you down a LOT of false trails
I'm in support of db usage during rated tb games too. I think it makes for more interesting games and it doesnt make a huge difference either way. Most games against a creative P2 will result in a game state that the DB has never seen.
Someday there will be a strong enough AI engine that will be able to beat anybody. I guess at that point we'd have to come up with some way to detect if people are using it, similar to how chess com handles cheating today. Until then, I'm fine with people using whatever they'd like to make for more interesting games.
I thought noah departed from any real db lines with his 3rd p1 move against me, but I just checked the K10 N8 N11 transposition, and turns out there's a jhs vs. nosovs game lmao

Without reviewing the game, in general. Nosovs wasnt known for bluffing. Any line he walked into he had at least 5 grenades and an rpg ready. And punji sticks littered everywhere.
