Re: New topic about site suggestions!

Just wanted to add my two cents about all the suggestions already brought up here to date.
First of all, I'm glad to hear that Keyro and Gomoku games were added to the GH. Thanks Dweebo! (Although on this date I'm not sure how to access them -- the Game: pulldown still only has the Pente option -- maybe I'm doing something wrong though...)
I really like the idea of sorting by all/rated/unrated games. I would suggest in addition to this proposed pulldown menu, an additional checkbox can be provided for this category (and another separate one for every other category in a similar situation) marked as "Include games with unknown status" (or something more concise) defaulted to checked so these can be considered rated or unrated as the user prefers.
I also really like the idea of sorting by player rating for player 1 and player 2 separately -- and perhaps an additional checkbox can be added marked as "Include games involving non-established players" defaulted to unchecked.
Along these lines, I would propose also the ability to sort by the timer setting for the game (to weed out speed games, for example) where the user may type in the low limit for an acceptable game time (with default 0).
I like the idea of adding a selectable number of players as a multiplayer option (perhaps independent of which game variation is being played) and a corresponding team/individual setting. I see this as a major pain to program though, not only for the game engine, but also the whole layout changes -- some changes are made to buttons or pulldowns on the left side, but more importantly, multiple columns would have to be squeezed in on the right side to track moves for multiple players, multiple "Sit Down"/"Stand" buttons would have to be added underneath and a whole host of other unforseen complications would result.
However, perhaps easier to add, and what I would really love to see, would be additional game variations for G-Pente and especially D-Pente. I STRONGLY believe that these should continue to be considered "game variations" (added as additional choices in the Game pulldown, for example) and NOT a "game replacement" as a result of proposed rule "changes" -- Just like Pro-Pente with the addition of the "Tournament Rule" is a variation of Pente (and hopefully is still a configurable option within DSG???) Which game variation becomes the "standard" for top players and competitive tournaments, for example, may shift with time, but ALL game variations should always be available -- I think the phrase "rule change" should be used with extreme caution.
That's all for now! Perhaps I'll have some of my own ideas about site improvements (instead of adding to other people's suggestions) in the future.
