Well put zoey.....I figured you didnt mean to come off heavy handed or aggressive, but it struck me as so (unintended or not) and therefore I stuck my big fat nose in it lol. The other factor dictating my decision to speak up was another player antagonizing/harassing Thad in his thread combining with what seemed to be an assumption that Thad intended to cheat (noone brought up the possibility of his question relating to turnbased games until I chimed in) when really what was necessary was a clarification from Thad (I still don't quite see why the need for anonymity when using the feature tho, so Thad if you could clarify that point, I'd be grateful-). I think everyone's clarification here makes everything pretty clear.....again, I think Thad's (and Dweebo's) idea here is pretty useful.......Peace.

Has anything become of this? I'd really, really love a practice board. I can't imagine that it would take much coding at all to modify the games database and make an awesome practice board. Please, please, please?

I remember another idea that would sort of expand upon this one. That was the possibility to set up a board position a little more freely, to be able to create puzzles, for example. When creating a puzzle you may not even want to start with 1. K10 and you might not have the "proper" number of white vs. black stones played as would occur during a game. So, you'd have a couple of modes you could switch into to just place white stones, black stones, captured pairs for each, etc. You could turn off the detection of captures while placing these stones. This could be used as a practice board also. It could be features added to the database board, but it might also be a useful feature in the game room to be able to set up a quick position and then work it out with another player in a practice game (not even tracked as unrated games are -- just a practice game maybe). Similarly, this might be a useful tool to be able to post analysis snapshots of hypothetical games in the forums in a more convenient way than it is now.
Obviously this would be a bigger change than what Thad was asking for, so maybe one step at a time would be prudent. Good to see you still have your eye on things here Dweebo!
