I'm trying to remember how c6 came to be on this site, there is probably a post somewhere about it.
I'm fairly sure someone involved with the creation of the game contacted me because they were trying to get the game to be popular with different game sites supporting it. I thought it was an interesting game so I coded it up.
Like Zoey said, originally a goal of mine was to implement a great number of different "stone games". There are many simple games played on a grid with stones with different game play and rules. However there are already many other great internet sites to play alot of those other games, and not many for Pente so I decided to focus my attention more on creating the best place on the internet for Pente.

P.S. I have no plans for removing c6, or banning any one from the site. And thanks to karl for creating a pseudo-flame thread to distract us all from creating a real one

Dweebo:
Well I just realized a flaw in the code. The view counter on this thread increments by one every time someone looks at each of the 4 pages. So every time someone clicks on page 4 and then clicks on page 3 to see what someone wrote earlier, the counter will keep adding extra views. I just unintentionally added about 10 counts to the view counter just now when I noticed this. If someone reads all 4 pages of the this thread they will add 4 views to the counter (instead of 1).
So what I'm saying is that code is artificially inflating the view count. My guess is that there are a couple hundred views to this thread, not a 1200+.

Good point carson! I didn't really think about the views that much when I added it, and I've been surprised by the high viewed counts. I recently added code to prevent hits from search engine spiders from counting as views. It should not be terribly difficult to prevent the views from incrementing for each page that is viewed in the same thread.

Hey Dweebo,
Thanks for the info on the post. It would be a sad thing to know so many people read it and yet didn't comment, in a positive way. So thanks for keeping up with the site and someday I hope you can filter out things. So when people are bored with themselves they can write a suicide note rather than attack others... without a just cause. Very truly yours. Kristine Saxon PA.

kris,
if you are implying in your last post what it looks like you're implying, than that is really disgusting and offensive. why is it sad if people read a post but don't comment? who cares? also dweebo never said anything at all about "filtering" responses, and to suggest that some people need to be filtered is pretty presumptuous. Most of all, who in their right mind jokes about suicide?

I think we need a tetrislike variant. The game pieces would have the same shapes as in tetris, but they'd be comprised of varying combinations of black/white stones. Any time five black or white pieces lined up to create a pente, those five stones would disappear. Additionally, the normal tetris full rows disappear would also occur. I think it could be a fun break. I'd play it.
Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat
