So, I was playing myself as a guest in an unrated anti poof pente game with the object of trying to fill the board as fully as possible without either player capturing, sacrifcing or (of course) winning, when I discovered an interesting bug. Apparently the board wraps around to the other side in some locations. Check it out: I (we demonstrate the effect with a double cap right near the end. Black resigned shortly thereafter with no place to play without capping...
I think that was one of the wrap around spots, but don't quote me on that. I know they were generally on the left and right edges of the board around midboard. Thanks for the direct link, I meant to post that when I had a bit more time, but didn't get back in to do it.
Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat

its kind of hard to believe that capture-wrap-around bug is there, but sure enough it is! good catch watsu!
i was surprised because i had code (i thought) to check for that and know i've tested it before for 5 in a row wrapping around the board. it was working for captures if the capturing piece is placed on the opposite side of the board as the rest of the pieces, it just wasn't working for the other way around.
