European players consider 'unperfect 5' and 'overline' rules as improvement of Pente. Both these rules are simple and make the game more interesting. The 3rd rule ('Double threes') is more a japanese tradition.
So, maybe it would be better to implement 'unperfect 5' + 'overline' rules and call this variation, for example, 'Advanced Pente' instead 'Boat-Pente'...
