Is there a Gomoku variant of this form:

I'm looking for a connect-five game in which two players alternate.. and the winner is the first to get 5 pieces of his/her color in a row. Just like Gomoku but with one simple restriction: All moves must be made adjacent to an already placed piece, diagonally, vertically, or horizontally. When the move is made.. it does not matter if the piece the move is adjacent to is of the same color as the piece that is now being placed.. just so long as it is being placed next to a piece that has been placed.. by either player.

Does anyone know if this is a standard variant or if perhaps there is some name for it. Perhaps there are java versions of it with an AI.. or downloadable programs with AI that can play the game.

The important restriction is that the moves must be made adjacent to already placed pieces.. which completely changes it from regular gomoku.

Sounds interesting but never heard of that way to play gomoku. If you find it please tell me where.
